Common errors in English: Usage of Shoot and Shot (Different Between Shoot and Shot)

Incorrect : He made a good shoot at the goal. 


Correct : He made a good shot at the goal.


Incorrect : This player can shot very well. 


Correct : This player can shoot very well.


Note: In football, shoot is a verb and shot is a noun. Shot is also the past and past participle form of shoot. You can say:


He shot the ball into the goalposts.
