Common errors in English: Usage of Happen, Occur and Take place

 Happen, Occur and Take place


Incorrect : When did the accident take place? 


Correct: When did the accident happen/occur?


Incorrect : When did the wedding happen/occur? 


Correct: When did the wedding take place?


Note: Events usually happen or occur by accident. (“Occur' is more formal than “happen’) But events take place by arrangement.
