Take place and Take part


Incorrect : The wedding will take part on Sunday.


Correct : The wedding will take place on Sunday.


Incorrect : I shall take place in the meeting. 


Correct : I shall take part in the meeting. 


Note : "Take place” means “to be held” but "take part” means to participate or to have a share in a thing.
