Common errors in English: Usage of Let, Rent and Hire

Let, Rent and Hire

Incorrect : A landlord rents a house.

Correct: A landlord lets a house. (BrE) Or A landlord rents out a house. (AmE)

Incorrect : Is it your own house or do you let it?

Correct : Is it your own house or do you rent it?
