Common errors in English: Usage of Flown and Flowed

Flown and Flowed


Incorrect : The river has flown over its banks. 


Correct : The river has flowed over its banks.


Incorrect : She has never flowed before. 


Correct : She has never flown before.


Note: “Flown” is the past participle form of the verb “fly'. Its past tense is "flew'. On the other hand. “flowed' is the past participle form of “flow'. Its past tense is also "flowed'.
