Home remedy and natural treatment of Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia Nervosa Anorexia nervosa, often referred to simply as anorexia,is an eating disorder characterized by a low weight, fear of gaining weight, a strong desire to be thin, and food restriction. Many people with anorexia see themselves as overweight even though they are in fact underweight. ❄ Chronic dieting despite being hazardously underweight ❄ Obsession with calories and fat contents of food ❄ Engaging in ritualistic eating patterns, such as cutting food into tiny pieces, eating alone, and/or hiding food ❄ Continued fixation with food, recipes, or cooking; the individual may cook intricate meals for others but refrain from partaking ❄ Amenorrhea ❄ Depression or lethargic stage ❄ Development of lanugo ❄ Reported sensation of feeling cold, particularly in extremities ❄ Loss or thinning of hair ❄ Avoidance of social functions, family and friends. There is evidence for biological, psychological and environmental factors, but the exact cause of eating disorders is unknown. Examples of environmental factors that would contribute to the occurrence of anorexia nervosa are: ❄ The effects of the thinnessculture in media, that constantly reinforce thin people as ideal stereotypes ❄ Professions and careers that promote being thin and weight loss, such as ballet and modeling ❄ Family and childhood traumas: childhood sexual abuse, severe trauma ❄ Peer pressure among friends and co-workers to be thin or be sexy. Examples of biological factors include: ❄ Irregular hormone functions ❄ Genetics (the tie between anorexia and one’s genes is still being heavily researched, but we know that genetics is a part of the story). ❄ Nutritional deficiencies 1. Ginger: Ginger is especially recommended for anorexia because it helps to enhance hunger. Ginger taken with rock salt every day works miraculously on an upset stomach and in stimulating the appetite. 2. Garlic: Add 3 to 4 finely chopped garlic cloves to 1 cup of water. Boil it for a few minutes, then strain the solution. Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and a pinch of rock salt to it. Drink this solution twice daily for a few weeks. 3. Mint: Eat 2 teaspoons of freshly extracted mint juice each morning. 4. Apple: Eating an apple a day stimulates surge of a protein-digesting enzymes known as pepsin. This is useful in helping digestion. 5. Herbal Tea: Try drinking a cup or two of your favorite herbal tea a day to increase your fluid intake and potentially increase your appetite.
