Common errors in English: Usage of Friendly and In a friendly manner

 Friendly and In a friendly manner


Incorrect : He talked with us friendly. 


Correct : He talked with us in a friendly manner.


Note: Friendly is not an adverb. (The formula of an adverb of manner is adjective + ly. For example, slowly, quickly, nicely, badly and so on). Friendly (noun + ly) is an adjective. You can say: 


I have friendly relations with them.
