Common errors in English: Usage of Shall and Will

Shall and Will

To express simple futurity:

Incorrect : I will go there tomorrow.

Correct : I shall go there tomorrow.

Incorrect : You shall do this work.

Correct : You will do this work.

Incorrect : He shall sleep now.

Correct : He will sleep now.

Note: To express simple future, you should use “shall” with the first person and "will” with the second and third persons. But in informal conversational English, this rule is violated. People often say: "I'll take tea now” to express simple futurity.
