Cholera is an infectious disease that is caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae and cholera causes severe watery diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration and even death if untreated.

1. Homemade ORS:
Mix ½ small spoon of salt and 6 small spoons of sugar in 1 liter or 4 cups of clean water. Then drink this as many times as possible until you recover completely.
2. Mint Juice:
Drinking mint juice on a daily basis will provide relief from the symptoms of cholera, like vomiting and nausea.
3. Lemon:
Consume at least one glass of fresh juice on a daily basis.
4. Onion:
Take about 30 grams of onions and 7-10 black peppers. Grind this mixture and give it to the patient in 2 to 3 dose, per day.
5. Coconut and Cucumber:
Mix equal quantities of coconut water and cucumber leaves juice to relieve excessive thirst and prevent dehydration.
6. Yoghurt:
Plain probiotic yogurt is very effective to eat in Cholera. You must include it in your daily diet until you recover completely.
7. High amount of fluid intake:
Drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated. But not just any water, you need to drink bottled water or water purified with iodine or chlorine. To be on the safe side, boil your water before drinking it.
8. Bitter Gourd Juice:
Add half glass of onion juice to half glass of bitter gourd juice and put few drops of lemon juice in it. Drinking this mixture of juices is also effective way to treating the cholera.
