Common errors in English: Usage of Logical and Reasonable

 Logical and Reasonable


These two adjectives are often used in the same way to mean “sensible'. For example: 


It's a logical/reasonable thing to do. 


But-


Incorrect : Mathematics requires reasonable thinking.


Correct : Mathematics requires logical thinking. 


Note: In the correct sentence above logical thinking means careful thinking which follows the exact rules of logic.
