Common errors in English: Usage of Late and Lately

Late and Lately


Incorrect : Last night I came home lately. 


Correct : Last night I came home late.


Incorrect : I have not been feeling very well late.


Correct : I have not been feeling very well lately.


Note: "Late' means after the usual or expected time, whereas “lately' means in recent times.
