Uncountable nouns do not take “a/an”

Incorrect : He has found a work at the bank.

Correct : He has found work at the bank.

Incorrect: We had a fun on the boat.

Correct: We had fun on the boat.

Incorrect : She enjoys a good health.

Correct : She enjoys good health.

Note: “Work', 'fun', 'health' etc are uncountable nouns. An uncountable noun does not take 'a' or 'an' or “one' before it. You can, however, use partitives before an uncountable noun. For example:

We had a lot of fun on the boat.

The word "work” can also be countable. For example:

It's an excellent work of art.
