Common errors in English: Usage of “Where” means “at what place”

 “Where” means “at what place”


Incorrect: From where did you find this pen? 


Correct : Where did you find this pen?


Note: If “where” means "at what place', it is not preceded by any preposition. But you can say "from where' when you refer to a point of origin. For example: 


From where do they come? (Formal) 

Where do they come from? (informal)
