Common errors in English: Usage of Half a Glass.

Half a glass


Incorrect : He drank half glass of milk. 


Correct : He drank half a glass of milk.


Incorrect : I waited half hour for you. 


Correct: I waited half an hour for you.


Note: To express quantity, "half” is often used as a predeterminer. The determiner (a, an or the) after it cannot be omitted.
