At and In (Place)
Incorrect : They spent their vacation at Dhaka.
Correct : They spent their vacation in Dhaka.
Incorrect : He was born in a village at the district of Alan.
Correct : He was born at a village in the district of Alan.
Note: “In' is generally used before the name of a country or large town (or a large area, namely a district), while "at' is used before the name of a small town or village. When you speak of a distant place (big or small), you can use "at" before it. For example:
We spent three months at Plymouth.
