Common error in English: Usage of In and Into (Place)

 In and Into (Place)


Incorrect : We were sitting into his bedroom. 


Correct : We were sitting in his bedroom.


Incorrect : We went in his bedroom. 


Correct : We went into his bedroom.


Note: "In' indicates position or rest inside something, whereas “into” denotes motion or direction towards the inside of something. Don't write “in” and "to" separately. “Into" is a single word.
