Common errors in English: Usage of Pants/Trousers

 Pants/Trousers

Incorrect : He is wearing a pant/trouser.

Correct : He is wearing pants/trousers. Or He is wearing a pair of pants/trousers.

Note: Both these nouns refer to the same garment. Trousers is British English, while pants is American. These words are always plural. They should not be used in the singular form. Similarly, tights, shorts, jeans are also always plural.
