Common errors in English: Usage of Passed and Past (Different Between Passed and Past)

Passed and Past

Incorrect : A week has past since I saw her.

Correct : A week has passed since I saw her.

Incorrect : Don't think of the passed.

Correct : Don't think of the past.

Note : Past is not a verb but passed is a verb (the past and past participle form of "pass'). In the correct sentence above, past is used as a noun. It can, however, be used in other ways too. For example:

The past week was very cold. (adjective)

We walked past the library. (preposition)

The bus went past. (adverb)
