Incorrect : Can you find the middle of the table?
Correct : Can you find the centre of the table?
Incorrect : He was standing in the centre of the street.
Correct : He was standing in the middle of the street.
Note: Centre is a definite point, whereas middle refers to an indefinite space around or near the centre.
