Miser and miserly
Incorrect : He loves money and hates spending it; he is miser.
Correct : He loves money and hates spending it; he is a miser. Or He has a miserly attitude towards money.
Note: Miser is a noun and cannot be used as an adjective. The adjective form is ‘miserly’. You can also say:
He is very miserly.
