Subject + verb + object + adverbial
Incorrect : Last week visited me a friend of mine.
Correct : A friend of mine visited me last week.
Note: In most English sentences the subject comes first. The subject is followed by the finite verb. If the finite verb is transitive, it takes its object/objects after it. Adverbials usually come last.
