Common errors in English: Usage of Except and Without

 Except and Without


Incorrect : I take tea except sugar. 


Correct : I take tea without sugar.


Incorrect : Everyone attended the party without one teacher only. 


Correct: Everyone attended the party except one teacher only.


Note: "Without' means "not having", while "except” means “not including' or “leaving out”.
