Common errors in English: Usage of Introductory “their” + verb

Introductory “their” + verb

Incorrect : Once lived a great king.

Correct : Once there lived a great king.

Note: In this kind of construction the real subject comes after the verb. The adverb 'there' should be used before the verb in order to introduce the subject. This is known as "introductory there.'
