Common errors in English: Usage of Future, the future

Incorrect : You must be careful in the future. 


Correct : You must be careful in future.


Note: "In future' is a fixed phrase which is used especially in giving warnings. It means ‘from now on'. But when ‘future’ means 'time to come', 'the' is used before it. For example:


You should save some money for the future.
