Common errors in English: Usage of Auxiliary before Subject

Incorrect: Does not he come here regularly?


Correct : Does he not come here regularly? Or Doesn't he come here regularly?


Note: In a question like this, only the auxiliary verb comes before the subject, not “not” in the long form. But in the contracted form, the auxiliary and “not” are written together to form a single word. However, if the subject of the sentence is very long, “not” is used separately before that subject. For example:


Did not the people of this area get any relief goods?
