Common errors in English: Usage of "Not” between two auxiliaries

 “Not” between two auxiliaries


Incorrect : It has been not raining for long. 


Correct : It has not been raining for long.


Incorrect: You should have not done the Work. 


Correct : You should not have done the work.


Note: When you have to use more than one auxiliary verb before the principal verb in a sentence, the position of “not” should be after the first auxiliary.
