Common errors in English: Usage of Always”, “never” etc before principal verb

“Always”, “never” etc before principal verb 


Incorrect : He speaks the truth always. 


Correct : He always speaks the truth.


Incorrect : She tells a lie never. 


Correct : She never tells a lie.


Incorrect: It rains here hardly/scarcely. 


Correct : It hardly/scarcely rains here.


Note: Adverbs of indefinite time like "ever "never', "always', 'often”, “seldom', 'soon', 'sometimes”, “almost', 'scarcely", "hardly' are placed before the principal verb. However, the adverbs are usually used after "to be' verbs. For example:


He is often very late. 

They are always very busy.
