Common errors in English: Usage of See and Look at

See and Look at


Incorrect: I looked at him crossing the road. 


Correct : I saw him crossing the road.


Incorrect : He was seeing me again and again. 


Correct : He was looking at me again and again.


Note: "To see" is to notice with eyes, but “to look” is to direct the eyes in order to see.
