Common errors in English: Usage of “Only' as a qualifier

 “Only' as a qualifier

Incorrect : I only saw him once after that.

Correct :I saw him only once after that.

Incorrect : I only saw him and nobody else.

Correct :I saw only him and nobody else.

Note: "Only' is a qualifier and it should be placed immediately before the word it qualifies. In the sentences above, "only' qualifies “once” and “him' respectively and not the verb "saw".
