Common errors in English: Usage of “Down” does not mean “Downstairs”

 “Down” does not mean “Downstairs”

Incorrect : “Where is he?” “He is down.”

Correct : "Where is he?” "He is downstairs.”

Note: The expression "he is down” means "He is depressed” and cannot be an answer to the question "Where is he?" "He is downstairs” is the right answer which means that he is on the lower floor of the building.
