Common errors in English: Usage of Do (auxiliary) + do (main verb)

Do (auxiliary) + do (main verb) 


Incorrect : Do they their work regularly? 


Correct : Do they do their work regularly?


Note: In the correct sentence above, the first 'do' is an auxiliary verb and has no meaning of its own, whereas the second 'do' is the principal verb and has the meaning of "perform'. Neither of these verbs can be omitted.
