Common errors in English: Usage of Await + object

Await + object


Incorrect : I am awaiting for their reply. 


Correct : I am awaiting their reply.


Note: "Await’ means “wait for”. "Wait” is an intransitive verb but “await” is always transitive. It takes directly a noun or pronoun as its object. No preposition is required after it.
