Common errors in English: Usage of A/One hundred, thousand etc.

 A/One hundred, thousand etc.

Incorrect : Hundred years make a century.

Correct : A/One hundred years make a century.

Incorrect : Please lend me thousand taka.

Correct : Please lend me a/one thousand taka.

Note: When you mean “100” or “1000” you must say “a/one hundred’ or 'a/one thousand’. ‘200' is not “two hundreds.” When you use a definite number before "hundred', “thousand” etc. they shall not be in the plural form. However, you can say:

I have been there hundreds of times.

Thousands of people gathered there.
