Common errors in English: Usage of So and Very

 So and Very


Incorrect : He is not very rich as you are. 


Correct : He is not so rich as you are.


Incorrect : He is not so rich. 


Correct: He is not very rich.


Note: 'So’ cannot be used in the sense of ‘very'. ‘So’ usually implies a comparison and is followed by ‘as’.
