First and Fast
Incorrect : This train runs first.
Correct: This train runs fast.
Incorrect : Ratan arrived fast; then others.
Correct : Ratan arrived first; then others.
Note: “Fast' is an adverb of manner and it means "quickly'. But "first" is an adverb of time and it means "before anything else' or "before the others'.
