Common error in English: Usage of Each and Every

Each and Every


Incorrect : She had a cut on every foot.


Correct : She had a cut on each foot.


Incorrect : Each student of the class took part in the picnic.


Correct : Every student of the class took part in the picnic.


Note : Each is used for one of two or more persons or things taken separately. But every is used for more than two persons or things taken as a group. Each is more individual and specific.
