Singular or Plural Verb?
There are some nouns in English which can take either a singular or a plural verb after them. For example:
Politics has/have never interested me.
The crowd is/are leaving the place.
The audience was/were quiet.
The staff has/have attended the meeting.
But, not all verbs will allow you this freedom. There are certain nouns which require only one kind of verb but their forms may mislead you. Look at the following examples
