Common errors in English: Usage of Fool and Foolish

 Fool and Foolish


Incorrect : I said that he was a foolish. 


Correct : I said that he was a fool.


Incorrect : He was absolutely fool. 


Correct : He was absolutely foolish.


Note: "Fool' is a singular countable noun and cannot be used without a determiner before it. On the other hand, “foolish' is an adjective and does not take any determiner before it.
