Common errors in English: Usage of Damage

Damage


Incorrect: The fire caused many damages.


Correct : The fire caused a lot of damage.

Note: The plural form damages means money which a person is ordered by a court to pay to another person for causing damage. For example, The court ordered him to pay her damages of ten thousand taka.
