Common errors in English: Usage of Singular Countable Nouns.

Singular Countable nouns


Incorrect : I have no money to buy car. 


Correct : I have no money to buy a car.


Incorrect : He bought umbrella yesterday. 


Correct : He bought an umbrella yesterday.


Note: A singular countable noun cannot be used without a determiner before it. A., an, the, this, that, each, every and no are some of the determiners that can be used before a singular countable noun.
