Common errors in English: Usage of Behind + noun

 Behind + noun 


Incorrect : He hid behind of a large tree. 


Correct : He hid behind a large tree. 


Note: "Behind' itself is a preposition. So the second preposition is not necessary. However, two prepositions are sometimes used together. For example:


The sun came out from behind the clouds.
