“Love” as a stative verb


Incorrect: They are loving each other. 


Correct : They love each other. Or They are in love with each other.


Note: There are certain verbs in English which cannot be used in the continuous tense. These are called stative verbs. They include love, hate, like, dislike, know, understand, belong and so on.
