Common errors in English: usage of prefer From/than.

Prefer

Incorrect: I prefer coffee from/than tea. 

Correct : I prefer coffee to tea.

Note: Preferable also takes ‘to’ after it. 

Incorrect: Death is preferable than dishonor.

Correct: Death is preferable to dishonor.
