Incorrect : This is an exception of the rule. 

Correct : This is an exception to the rule.

Note: There is a phrase, namely ‘with the exception of’ to mean 'except’.

Incorrect : I enjoy every subject with the exception to Chemistry. 

Correct : I enjoy every subject with the exception of ( = except) Chemistry.
