Confusion about the origin of the prefix "in" for the word "inflammable" led to people taking stupid risks with the idea in their heads that the word means "not flammable." (It does not.) To avoid confusion, "FLAMMABLE" is now used for warnings, meaning: Dangerous!! Prone to catching fire!!
